You might notice he has a certain swagger, a sense of space and a style all of his own. By night, he creates music that could easily be Calgary's next big export. The sublime bass-and-beat-driven sounds feed his other passion: dance. “For me, it’s all about creation. I’m not sure what comes first, the dance or the music,” he says. Last year, he release his eponymous EP and it's garnered considerable attention.

My fingers don’t thank me, but the photos end up having a surreal quality that makes people stop and look,” she says as she slips on gloves neatly cropped mid-knuckle and grabs her weather-sealed camera.

This time, she’s exploring a new river famous for its tranquility and natural beauty and, hopefully for Ruth, its abundant stock of trout. “To me, this is where I recharge and find inspiration. I’d rather be here than doing a deep dive on Pinterest,” she says. And it shows, Ruth’s work as both a graphic designer and a painter taps into a love of nature — her incredibly detailed watercolour portraits often feature Baloo in his element.
